Loving Father, Grandfather & Brother -

Leonard John Bourinski, 77, of Mechanicsburg , died at Hershey Medical Center on Thursday, February 27, 2014. He was born in Shamokin on Sunday, March 22, 1936, son of the late Anthony Bourinski and Florence (Griscavage) Bourinski.  Leonard was the widower of Joyce (Shaffer) Bourinski.

Leonard’s survivors include his loving children, Leonard Anthony Bourinski of Shamokin, Lisa Ann Reed and her husband Mark of Camp Hill; his grandchildren, Jamie Humbert, Vanessa Bourinski, Ryan Bourinski, Alexis Bourinski, Devin Walde, Austin McMullin, Celeste McMullin, Brandon McMullin; his great-grandchildren, Christian Martinez, Mason Warner; and his sister, Barbara Candelora and her husband Anthony of Shamokin.  Among those preceding Leonard in death is his daughter, Lynn Bourinski and grandson, Scott Humbert.

Leonard graduated from Shamokin Area High School as part of the class of 1953.  He retired from Ships Parts Control Center in Mechanicsburg, after 30 years of service.  Leonard was a pilot and after retiring to Florida worked at an airport refueling planes. He was a devout Catholic.  Leonard enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle.  He loved animals, playing black jack at the casino, and most of all his family.

All are welcome to join Leonard’s family at his visitation on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at Myers–Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church , 815 South 2nd Street, Steelton, PA 17113 with Reverend Raymond LaVoie as celebrant.  Burial with military honors will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville.

The family suggests memorial contributions to American Cancer Society , 2 Lemoyne Drive, Suite #101, Lemoyne, PA 17043.
