Leroy Eugene Deitz, 86, of Mechanicsburg , died at Holy Spirit Hospital on Monday, January 21, 2013. He was born in Mechanicsburg, on Tuesday, January 26, 1926, son of the late Harry Deitz and Elsie (Sites) Deitz.
Leroy retired from Silver Spring Township in 1981 working on the road maintenance crew. He loved to hunt, feed the deer and birds, and watch game shows on television. He especially enjoyed spending time with his great-great nieces and nephews.
Leroy’s survivors include his loving niece, Sarah Hoffman and her husband Donald of Mechanicsburg; great niece, Sharon Weakland and her husband Mark of Carlisle; Daniel "Tike" Wenrich, Jr., and his wife Renee of Perry County; great-great nieces and nephews, Haley and Lindsay Weakland, Colton, Shelby and Galen Wenrich; and sister-in-law, Marie Deitz. Among those preceding Leroy in death are his three brothers, Everett Deitz, Harry Deitz, and Harvey Deitz.
All are welcome to join Leroy’s family at his graveside service on Friday, January 25, 2013 at 1:00 at St. John’s Cemetery , 4605 East Trindle Road, Mechanicsburg, PA with Pastor Greg Sheffer officiating. The Cumberland County Honor Guard will present military honors.
