Loving Father, Grandfather, and Devoted Husband -

Levi Jesse Myers, age 87, of Mechanicsburg was reunited with his loving wife on Monday, December 7, 2020.  Levi was born on Friday, December 16, 1932, in Mechanicsburg to the late Alvin Musser Myers, Sr. and Violet Ruth “Ruth” (Cronk) Myers.  Levi was the widower of Madeline Amelia (Gilmore) Myers, whom he married on November 24, 1956, and who died on April 3, 2020.  In addition to his parents and wife, Levi is preceded in death by his brother, David Myers.

Levi’s survivors include his six children: Douglas “Doug” G. Myers and wife Melissa of Boiling Springs, Julia “Julie” A. Byndas and husband Michael of New Kingstown, Patricia “Patty” Lynn Sayres and husband Mark of Carlisle, Deborah “Debbie” Lee Brydon and husband Rick of Middletown, Tamera “Tammy” Kay Clark and husband Bob of Camp Hill, Diana Rae Mattos and husband Frank of Manheim; his 18 grandchildren; his 22 great-grandchildren; his two brothers:  Alvin Myers, Jr., Joseph Myers and wife Connie; and many nieces and nephews.

Levi graduated from Messiah Academy.  He belonged to the Brethren in Christ Church and was a former member of the board of trustees at Cumberland Valley Brethren in Christ Church in Dillsburg.  Levi founded Cumberland Valley Grading & Seeding, Landscaping and Plowing, and owned and operated the business until he retired in 2000.  Levi had many talents and interests:  from drawing, painting, and carving walking sticks and canes to fixing various things, and from target shooting, hunting, and fishing to genealogical research.  He was fond of a good cup of great coffee, and it had to be hot.  Levi was a loving father, grandfather and faithful husband.  He visited his wife, Madeline, every day she was in the nursing home; and he stayed all day, keeping her company and feeding her meals.  Levi’s family will miss his big heart.

All are welcome to join Levi’s family for his in-person viewing at Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, on Wednesday, December 16, 2020, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.   Levi’s family invites everyone to his virtual gathering at 12:45 p.m. via video chat or telephone until time of virtual viewing at 1:15 p.m. and time of service at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Ross Ritchey officiating.  A private graveside service and burial will be in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
