Linda Jo (Spriggle) Boch
Linda Jo (Spriggle) Boch, age 75, of Mechanicsburg, passed away at home while surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, July 5, 2022. Linda was born on Wednesday, May 14, 1947, in Clearfield to the late William Spriggle and Josephine Katherine (Miles) Spriggle. In addition to her parents, Linda is preceded in death by her brother, William Spriggle.
Linda’s survivors include her husband of 55 years, Dr. Thomas “Tom” Alfred Boch; her four children: Kelle Gail Boch and her partner, Patricia Bauer, of Wilmington, NC; Thomas “Tom” Andrew Boch and his wife, Joyce, of Mt. Joy; Dr. Jason Aaron Boch and his wife, Dr. Cara Donley, of Sudbury, MA; Jillian “Jill” Eileen Meszaros and her husband, William, of Etters; her four grandchildren: Quincy, Zoey, Zander and Kitty; her niece and four nephews; and her beloved goldendoodle, Grace.
Linda attended Clearfield High School and graduated as part of the Class of 1965. She participated in Band, Chorus, Dance Band, Orchestra, Co-ed Club, Future Doctors of America, Future Nurses of America, Future Teachers of America, Girls’ Leaders Club, Speech Club, National Honor Society and was a Candy Striper in the local hospital.
After graduating from high school, her brother Bill told her he wanted her to see the world and invited her to spend the summer with him in St. Louis, Missouri, where he attended Logan Chiropractic College. A month before coming back to Pennsylvania, she met her future husband, Thomas Boch, who was also a student at Logan Chiropractic College. They were married a year later on November 9th and celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary last year. In addition to raising four children, Linda was the office manager of her husband’s practice. She greeted patients at the front desk, managed the staff, and handled the insurance billing claims.
Linda was an avid traveler and especially enjoyed cruises. She took any opportunity possible to travel and did so with the whole family as well as taking her children on various excursions. Linda’s mother had a lifelong dream of going to Hawaii so she was happy to take her there. When Tom retired from practicing chiropractic, Linda enjoyed sharing the world with him. Some of her favorite destinations were a cruise to Alaska, exploring Yellowstone National Park, and the Caribbean.
Linda was an incredibly talented musician. She played the violin and tenor saxophone since her teenage years. She participated in the Christ Community Church orchestra, as well as the New Singer Band in Mechanicsburg, PA.
Linda also loved to bowl. She was a member of various bowling leagues throughout her life, most recently including the Senior Citizens League at Trindle Bowl in Mechanicsburg. She convinced Tom to join her team five years ago and it was a hobby they enjoyed sharing together.
Linda had a passion for nature and loved gardening. Her home is filled with plants inside and out which she loved taking care of. Her specialty was orchids.
One of her favorite hobbies was bird watching. She set up an entire system of bird feeders and bird houses at her home and diligently fed them all year long. Her favorite birds were hummingbirds and eagles.
Linda was also a fabulous cook and baker. She always graciously hosted holiday meals and family celebrations, which are wonderful memories for her family to cherish. She was also very good at sewing and often created fun Halloween costumes for the kids and small pillows for the grandkids.
The greatest source of joy in her life were her four children and four grandchildren. She enjoyed taking them on adventures and seeing their faces light up with joy. She was an extremely devoted mother and fun “Gram”. She was always there to help and support her family and she will be greatly missed.
Three days before she passed, she had the chance to spend time with all her children and grandchildren, which she enjoyed tremendously.
All are welcome to join Linda’s family during a Celebration of Life service that will be held at New Life Church in New Cumberland on Saturday, the 23rd of July at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Ronnie Riggins will be officiating the services.
