Mother Hen with a Mind of Her Own -
Linda Lee (Taylor) Gutshall, age 63, of Mechanicsburg , died peacefully at home on Saturday, February 28, 2015. Linda was born on Tuesday, February 19, 1952, in Harrisburg to Delores “Jean” (Horgan) Taylor and the late Nathan Taylor. In addition to her father, Linda is preceded in death by her brother, Nathan Eugene Taylor, and her brother-in-law, Kent N. Weber.
Linda’s survivors include her mother, Delores “Jean” Taylor of Mechanicsburg; her siblings: Mildred “Millie” Catherine Weber of Mechanicsburg, Jody Rae McDade and her husband, Richard, of New Cumberland, Gary Joseph Taylor and his wife, Rebecca, of Florida, William “Bill” Samuel Taylor and his companion, Debra Bernstein, of Enola; numerous aunts and uncles, and 28 nieces and nephews.
Linda graduated from Mechanicsburg High School as part of the class of 1970. She worked for many years as a server at Baker’s Restaurant in Dillsburg and at the Mechanicsburg Legion Post 109 , where she was also a member. During the six years she lived in Florida, Linda worked in the Bausch & Lomb warehouse, packing orders. Some of Linda’s favorite leisure activities included reading, computer games, dancing, and spending time at the beach. Her family fondly remembers Linda as having a mind of her own, and as a “mother hen,” who doted over her nieces and nephews.
All are welcome to join Linda’s family at gathering of family and friends on Friday, March 6, 2015, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Celebrant Mary Medkeff-Rose officiating. Linda’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at the Caddy Shack Restaurant , 800 Orrs Bridge Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050 immediately following the memorial service . Cremation was private.
