Lindsay “Linz” Kay Weakland

Lindsay “Linz” Kay Weakland, age 18, of Carlisle, passed away without warning on Saturday, September 24, 2022, while on vacation at the beach in Wildwood, NJ.  She was embraced by her loving family as she entered Heaven, and was reunited with her canine companions, Tig and Po.  Linz was born on Saturday, January 31, 2004, in Harrisburg, PA, the beloved daughter of Mark Matthew Weakland and Sharon Marie (Wenrich) Weakland.

Linz’s survivors include her parents, Mark and Sharon Weakland of Carlisle; her  two sisters: Elani Stauffenberg and her husband, Brandon, of Halifax; Haley Weakland of Carlisle; her paternal grandmother, Sharon Stricklin of Waynesboro, TN; her paternal grandfather, Scott Weakland of Carlisle; her niece, Tenille “Baby T”; her uncle and aunt, Daniel “Dan” and Renee Wenrich, and their three children, Colton, Shelby and Galen, all of Duncannon; her loving boyfriend, whom she dreamt of marrying, Alper Balkan of Mechanicsburg; her best friend & “sister”, Alley Walters; and her canine companions: Tucker and Bailey.

Linz graduated from Cumberland Valley High School as part of the class of 2022 and was excited to start her life as an adult upon her return from vacation.  She enjoyed attending classic car shows and Sprint car races with her boyfriend and his family.  Her favorite driver was Lucas Wolfe.  Linz was a free spirit with a 60’s-70’s hippie style.  She loved tie dye, tapestries, gnomes and VW Buses.  She liked going to hockey games and was a fan of the Hershey Bears and the Washington Capitals.  Linz loved going to concerts.  Some of her favorite singers were Billie Eilish and Post Malone.  A pure soul, Linz was innocent, sensitive and shy.  She loved apple juice and mashed potatoes, and a day rarely went by that she didn’t consume her absolute favorite food, macaroni and cheese.  Her smile always lit up the room, she gave great advice and she was very nurturing with children and animals.  A daughter, sister, companion and friend to all, Linz will be deeply missed by all who were blessed enough to know her.
