Lloyd Charles Kibe

Lloyd Charles Kibe, age 84, of Duncannon, passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2022.  Lloyd was born on Tuesday, June 29, 1937, in McKeesport to the late Orville Henry Kibe and Gertrude DeVoda (Ashkettle) Kibe.  In addition to his parents, Lloyd is preceded in death by his son, Joshua Allen Kibe; his significant other of more than 25 years, Frances “Fran” DeSilva; his three brothers: Bill, Jack, and Norm; and his five sisters: Bernie, Lucille, Goldie, Irene, and Louise.

Lloyd’s survivors include his two children: Patricia “Patti” Ann Filippone and husband, Joseph, of Duncannon, Lloyd Kibe, II of Marysville; his seven grandchildren; his ten great-grandchildren; his brother, Vernon “Tom” Thomas Bowman of Altoona; and several nieces and nephews.

Lloyd was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, National Guard and United States Army.  He enjoyed reminiscing about his younger years and the days he spent in the military.  In his free time, Lloyd hunted, fished and watched television; his favorites were westerns and crime shows.  He loved listening to country music, especially songs by Patsy Cline and Reba McEntire.  Lloyd was a very loving and caring man and a great joke teller; he liked to make people laugh.  Lloyd loved his family the most; and never missed an opportunity to spend time with them.

All are welcome to join Lloyd’s family at his viewing on Thursday, April 28, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Celebrant George Spangler officiating.  Lloyd’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Buhrig’s Gathering Place (next to the funeral home) immediately following the service.  Over 100 parking spaces are available; just look for the “Buhrig” parking signs in all of the parking lots.  Burial will follow the reception in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, where military honors will be presented.
