Lois Jean (Goodhart) Spangler

Lois Jean (Goodhart) Spangler, 92, a life-long resident of Carlisle and Mechanicsburg, died at Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home on Friday, February 23, 2018.  Lois was born on Wednesday, February 17, 1926 in Carlisle to the late Lewis Kellog Goodhart and Mary Belle (Naugle) Goodhart.  Lois was the widow of Benson Edward Spangler who died on November 3, 2009.

Lois’ survivors include her nephew, Lew Goodhart and his wife, Diane, of Carlisle; his niece, Susan Mowery and her husband, Robert, of Pittsburgh; several great nieces and great nephews; and many friends.

Lois retired as a clerk from Sadie’s Dress Shop in Carlisle which was a job she began while still in high school.  She was a long-time member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Carlisle.

All are welcome to join Lois’ family at her gathering of family and friends on Friday, March 2, 2018, from 2:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:30 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.  A committal ceremony will immediately follow the service.  Burial in Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Mechanicsburg will be private.
