An Amazing Woman -
Loretta (Breen) Souto, age 73, passed away on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Hershey Medical Center with family at her bedside. Loretta was born on December 15, 1941 in Cass Township, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania; the daughter of the late Walter and Miriam (Kline) Breen.
Loretta was a 1959 graduate of Nativity BVM High School and a retired employee of Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) . Loretta is remembered for her Irish sense of humor. She loved being a mom, taking care of others, and spoiling her granddaughter. Always welcoming her daughter’s friends, Loretta was considered everyone’s “mom.” For Loretta, life was never about her; and she remained emotionally strong, loving, and supportive of her family throughout her life.
Loretta is survived by her loving husband, Paul H. Souto; her daughter, Keri A. Hughes; her granddaughter, Rory C. Hughes, both of Vienna, Virginia; her sister, Joanne Firestone, of Mechanicsburg; her nephew, Jeffrey Firestone and his wife, Beth, of Mechanicsburg; a great niece and three great nephews.
The family wishes to thank the staff at the Hershey Medical Center for their care and kindness.
All are welcome to join Loretta’s family at her gathering of family and friends on Friday, July 31, 2015, from 11:30 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Rev. Jose Elias Mera Vallejos leading the prayer service. Loretta’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Snapper’s Bar & Grill in Mechanicsburg following the service. Cremation was private.
