Lorraine Marie (Kormanski) von Trott

Lorraine Marie von Trott, 70, of Boiling Springs, passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2019, following a brief but courageous battle with cancer.  Born in Philadelphia on Tuesday, May 18, 1948, Lorraine was the daughter of two World War II veterans, Joseph Kormanski and Marie (McKenna) Kormanski.

Lorraine was married on May 31, 1975 to John Thomas von Trott, who preceded her in death on December 10, 2006.

Lorraine is survived by her two loving children: Thomas von Trott of Mechanicsburg and Caroline Anschutz and her husband, Jonathan, of Mechanicsburg; her brother, John Kormanski and his wife, Katrina, of Philadelphia; and her two grandsons, both of whom she cherished immensely, John “Jack” Anschutz and Wyatt Anschutz.

Lorraine participated in many activities with her beloved Shelties, including obedience, rally-obedience, rally-free, freestyle, agility, parkour, barn hunt, scent work, and tricks; and participated with Foot & Paw Friends for seven years.  She was also an avid reader; enjoyed live theatre; delighted in strolling through many public gardens, especially Longwood Gardens, where she was a member; and, most of all, loved spending relaxing days with her family in her “happy place,” the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

Lorraine was a passionate voice in support of a number of causes including women’s rights and environmental issues.

In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated and privately buried, joining her husband at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
