Louise Melvina (Stump) Hart
An Inspiration to Her Family -
Louise Melvina (Stump) Hart, 90, of Ickesburg, PA entered into heaven on Tuesday, October 16, 2018. She was born on Tuesday, October 11, 1928 in Hardesty, Oklahoma to the late Elmer Stump and Dora Lee (Sutton) Stump. Louise was the widow of Kenneth “Ken” Hart, whom she married in 1966, and who died in 1999. In addition to her parents and husband, Louise is preceded in death by her five brothers: Delmer Stump, Eldon Stump, Eugene Stump, Vernon “Jesse” Stump, and Edwin Stump.
Louise’s survivors include her five children: Dennis Cain of Ickesburg, Doris Garner and her husband, Earl, of Mechanicsburg, Neal Close and his wife, Paula, of Phoenixville, Thomas Close and his wife, Sylvia, of Ickesburg, Kevin Hart of Etters; her seven grandchildren: Jeffrey Cain, Christopher Cain and his wife, Chanthey, Natalie Rutkowski and her husband, Jeremy, Sabrina Andrews and her husband, Mark, Joshua Garner and his wife, Rachel, Dusti Campbell and her husband, Perry, and Rylee Hart; her 12 great-grandchildren: Taylor Garner, Samuel Cain, Azlynn Andrews, Noah Garner, Micah Rutkowski, Lena Andrews, Casey Campbell, Akiera Rutkowski, Evelyn Garner, Isaac Andrews, Caden Campbell, Audrey Garner; and several nieces and nephews.
She graduated high school in Morgan Hill, California and attended two years of junior college in Waxahachie, Texas. She lived in many different places, including Oklahoma, Kansas, Oregon, California, Texas, and Pennsylvania. A child of the dust bowl, she knew how to make things last through hard times. Her stubbornness, strength of character, and unfailing faith in God were an inspiration to her family. A faithful and ardent follower of Jesus Christ, she grew up in a family of musicians and passed down her love of music to her children and grandchildren. She played piano and enjoyed gospel music.
All are welcome to join Louise’s family at her gathering of family and friends on Wednesday, October 24, 2018, from 12:30 p.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Reverend Dennis Holley officiating. Interment will follow in Rolling Green Cemetery in Camp Hill. Louise’s family invites everyone to join them for a dutch treat reception at Hoss’s Steak and Sea House, 743 Wertzville Road, Enola, PA 17025 following the interment. Cremation was private.
