Deeply Loving & Devoted Father -
Loy Richard Greene, age 99, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Shiremanstown, died at home at Bethany Village on Monday, December 7, 2015. Loy was born on Monday, October 30, 1916 in Harrisburg to the late Hayes Greene and Delia (Hartzell) Greene. Loy was the widower of Janet (Wagner) Greene, who died in 2006. In addition to his parents and wife, Loy is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Greene.
Loy’s survivors include his daughter, Carol Greene of Florida; his one grandson, Christopher Falls; his one great-grandson, Zander Falls; his four nieces: Janet Wagner, Kay Wagner, Sandra Smith, Sally Hooper; and his good friend Debra Latsha.
If there was one defining characteristic that perfectly described Loy it would be that he was a deeply loving and devoted father. He was a dependable camera and video operator. Loy was loved at Bethany Village, where he lived for many years, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
All are welcome to gather at Loy’s graveside service on Saturday, December 19, 2015, at 9:30 a.m. at Mechanicsburg Cemetery, 137 West Marble Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Reverend Dr. Brand W. Eaton officiating. Military honors will be presented by the Cumberland County Honor Guard. Cremation was private.
