LuRilla “Lu” Lee (McDermott) Pensinger, age 55, of Mechanicsburg, found peace at home on Friday, March 4, 2016. Lu was born on Friday, April 1, 1960 in Mechanicsburg to the late Larry Lee McDermott and Donna Lee (Sechrist) McDermott Bechtel.
Lu’s survivors include her one daughter, Alexandra Nicole Pensinger of Mechanicsburg; her two sisters: Dawn Gochenaur and her husband, Doug, of Mechanicsburg, Harriet Richardson and her fiancé, Todd Sheaffer, of Enola; her three aunts: LuRilla Kraly, Carol Scheffer, Judy Witters; her two nephews and one great-nephew: Corey Gochenaur, Cody Richardson, and Blake Richardson.
Lu attended St. Stephen Lutheran Church in New Kingstown. She volunteered at the Joseph T. Simpson Public Library in Mechanicsburg. Lu enjoyed her flowers, chickens, and dogs; and she loved to ride her horses with her daughter. She liked to search for driftwood to create pieces of art. As a caregiver for her entire family, Lu always stood with them through anything, and they will deeply miss her loving and huge heart.
All are welcome to join Lu’s family at her gathering of family and friends on Thursday, March 10, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. to 1:50 p.m. and her memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at St. Stephen Lutheran Church, 30 West Main Street, New Kingstown, PA 17072; with The Reverend Caitlin Glass officiating. Lu’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at her church following the service. Interment will be private and at the family’s convenience. Cremation was private.
