Marcella (Rothermel) Gouse

Marcella Elizabeth (Rothermel) Gouse, age 91, of Carlisle, and formerly of Mechanicsburg, passed away at UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle on Friday, November 16, 2018.  Marcella was born on Wednesday, May 11, 1927 in Millersburg (Rabbit Hill) to the late Jacob Rothermel and Edna (Proudfoot) Rothermel.  She was the widow of Floyd Eugene Gouse, to whom she was married for 63 years, and who died on April 26, 2008.  In addition to her parents and husband, Marcella is preceded in death by her son, Walter Gouse; her daughter, Sandra Gouse; her five brothers: Charles, Paul, Earl, Mike and John; and her four sisters: Pauline, Esther, Mary and Alice.

Marcella’s survivors include her son, Floyd Gouse and his companion, Rosemary Porta; her nine grandchildren; her six great-grandchildren; and her three great-great-grandchildren.

Marcella worked at the dress factory in Millersburg, E. J. Korvette in Camp Hill and Penn Bumper Company in Mechanicsburg which was owned and operated by her son Floyd.

Marcella’s family will be celebrating her life privately.  Burial in Chestnut Hill Cemetery in Mechanicsburg will be at the family’s convenience.
