Margaret (McNamara) Cassidy

Loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother –

Margaret (McNamara) Cassidy, age 96, of Carlisle, and formerly of Mechanicsburg, went home peacefully with family her side on Monday, May 16, 2016.  Margaret was born on Tuesday, January 27, 1920, in Bellshill, Scotland, to the late Daniel McNamara and Margaret (Hurles) McNamara.  Margaret was the widow of Richard “Dick” Cassidy, whom she married on April 30, 1943, and who died on September 10, 1999.  In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret is preceded in death by her three brothers and a sister.

Margaret’s survivors include her four children: Patricia “Pat” Logan and her significant other, Dean Barnes, of Carlisle, James “Jim” Cassidy and his wife, Mary, of Kings Park, NY, Richard “Ricky” Cassidy of Brooklyn, NY, Martin Cassidy and his wife, Charlene, of Philadelphia, PA; her ten grandchildren; her ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  Margaret was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mechanicsburg for over 20 years.

All are welcome to join Margaret’s family at her Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 400 East Simpson Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.  Cremation was private.
