Margaret Louise (Smith) Hagerman

Margaret Louise (Smith) Hagerman, 85, of Duncannon , and formerly of Canonsburg , died at Kinkora Pythian Home while surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, October 11, 2012.  She was born in Linton, Indiana, on August 10, 1927, daughter of the late Gladstone Smith and Edna (Miller) Smith.  Margaret was the widow of Morris John Hagerman who died in 1972.

Margaret was a long-time beautician in Houston, PA, and later worked as a fiscal assistant at Western Center . She enjoyed reading and was a volunteer at the former Canonsburg Library , now Sarris Library , and the Literacy Council of Washington.

Margaret’s survivors include her son, Bill Hagerman and his wife Bernadine of North Strabane Twp; her daughter, Pamela Thomas and her husband Donald of Mechanicsburg; four grandsons, Michael Hagerman and his wife Kellie, Ryan Hagerman and his wife Heather, Jason Thomas, James Thomas; four great-grandchildren, Brendan, Isabella, Caden and Brady Hagerman.

Cremation and funeral services are private.  The family suggests memorial contributions to Sarris Library , 35 North Jefferson Avenue, Canonsburg, PA 15317.
