Margaret “Margie” Jean (Mickelinc) Keiter, 79, of Camp Hill , and formerly of Carlisle , died Saturday, August 11, 2012. She was born in Martinsburg, WV , on Sunday, October 30, 1932, daughter of the late George Mickelinc and Mary (Kramerage) Mickelinc. Margie was the widow of Dean Calvin Keiter whom she married on November 8, 1952 and who died on August 19, 2006.
Margie retired from The Book of the Month Club in the 1980s after serving as a mail clerk. She was deeply devoted and greatly enjoyed her granddaughter and great grandchildren. Margie traveled to visit and spend time with family when she could and she loved going to the beach. When her physical health began to fail, Margie was able let her mind travel through television. She especially enjoyed watching the news, weather, current event programs and anything having to do with animals. Playing cards and miniature golf, or “Putt Putt”, was a special treat.
Margie’s survivors include her children, Debra Keiter of Hagerstown, MD, Dean Calvin Keiter, Jr. of Carlisle; her granddaughter, Nicol Crown and her three children, Rebecca, Ryan and Jessica all of Hagerstown, MD; her niece, Brenda Stone of Tower City; five brothers; three sisters; and several nieces and nephews. Among those preceding Margie in death are her brother, Steven Mickelinc.
All are welcome to join Margie’s family at her visitation at Myers–Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, on Tuesday, August 21, 2012, from 12:30 until the procession departs for the cemetery at 1:00. Margie’s graveside service will begin at 2:00 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA, with Reverend Mary Medkeff-Rose officiating. Cremation was private and at the convenience of the family. Margie’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Funck's Family Restaurant , 1805 Fisher Avenue, Annville, PA 17003, following the service.
