Margaret “Peggy” Mary Keffer
Loving Sister, Aunt, & Friend -
Margaret “Peggy” Mary Keffer, age 72, of Camp Hill, and formerly of Harrisburg, passed away on Monday, June 12, 2017, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Peggy was born on Saturday, August 5, 1944 in St. Clair, PA to the late James Martin Keffer and Margaret Charlotte (Pretti) Keffer. In addition to her parents, Peggy is preceded in death by her son, Michael James Keffer; her sister, Helen Kelley; and her three brothers: James J. Keffer, Robert C. Keffer, and Joseph H. Keffer.
Peggy’s survivors include her sister, Kathleen Kulp and her husband, Bryan, of Duncannon; her brother, Edward “Ed” Michael Keffer of Steelton; her niece, Bryanna “Bre” Kulp; and her nephews: Anthony “Tony” Keffer, James Kulp along many more countless nieces and nephews.
Peggy graduated from William Penn High School as part of the class of 1964. She retired in 2001 from PennDOT in Harrisburg, after 30 years of service working in law enforcement services where she checked NCIC computers for the police. Peggy was a lifelong member of the Catholic faith and she exhibited that in her everyday life. She loved listening to Frank Sinatra and watching every movie that Gerard Butler starred in. Peggy enjoyed making a day out going to a see a movie that was next in her favorite series especially Harry Potter, Twilight, and the Lord of the Rings. She liked watching television and always had her favorite shows on such as Law & Order, NCIS, and SVU. Once Peggy retired, she liked watching and feeding the birds as they came and went in her backyard. She often delighted in playing bingo and frequenting the Hollywood Casino where she became a member of the Producer’s Club. Most importantly, Peggy cherished the time she spent with her family and they will all miss her dearly.
All are welcome to join Peggy’s family at gathering of family and friends on Saturday, June 24, 2017, from 4:00 p.m. until time of the blessing service at 4:45 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Deacon Jack Paruso officiating. Peggy’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at The Stage & Studio Café, next door to the funeral home, following the service.
Interment in Resurrection Cemetery in Harrisburg will be at the family’s convenience. Cremation was private.
