Margie Nita (Shambaugh) Spahr

Margie Nita (Shambaugh) Spahr, age 92, of Mechanicsburg, passed away while surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, April 7, 2022.  Margie was born on Monday, February 10, 1930, in Mechanicsburg to the late Clarence Leroy Shambaugh and Abbie (Lockwood) Shambaugh.  Margie was the widow of Carl “Gene” Eugene Spahr, whom she married on January 28, 1949, and who died on December 30, 2011.  In addition to her parents and husband, Margie is preceded in death by her two sisters: Laura Hershey and Jane Funck.

Margie’s survivors include her three daughters: Margene N. Harper and husband, Robert, of Mechanicsburg, Anne Thorne and husband, Jim, of Minehead, England, Denise Passmore and husband, Joe, of Minehead, England; her four granddaughters: Donna, Becki, Abbie and Dana; her four grandsons: Keith, Kirk, Joshua and David; her three great-grandchildren: Andrew, Tori and Harry; her brother, Jack Shambaugh of Mechanicsburg; and her beloved feline companion, Punkin.

All are welcome to join Margie’s family via video chat at her virtual greeting of family and friends on Saturday, September 16, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m. at www.Buhrig.com via video chat or telephone.  Celebrant Geroge Spangler will officiate.  Interment in Mechanicsburg Cemetery was at the family’s convenience.  Cremation was private.
