Maria Paula Blanco, of Camp Hill, died one week before her 102nd birthday, at home and surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday January 22, 2014. She was born in Matahambre Borough of Pinar Del Rio, Cuba, on Saturday, January 27, 1912, daughter of the late Jose Blanco y Cordero and Andrea Valdes y Gamez.
Maria’s survivors include her loving grandchildren, Maria Bucher of Camp Hill, Julie Crespo of Shiremanstown, Philip Crespo of Harrisburg; her loving great-grandchildren, Elisa Bucher, Christine Bucher, and James Ainsworth III. Among those preceding her in death is her son, Filiberto Crespo.
Maria was a seamstress working at several local tailoring shops for many years. She loved spending time with her family. Maria enjoyed cooking, gardening, and especially tending to her roses. She was the last surviving sibling in a family of ten children.
All are welcome to join Maria’s family at her Memorial service on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at 11:30 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 44 West Main Street, Shiremanstown, PA 17011, with Pastor Sarah M. Keilholtz officiating. Burial in Rolling Green Memorial Park will be private and at the family’s convenience.
