Marian Louise (Fish) Logan, age 90, of Camp Hill , died unexpectedly at Holy Spirit Hospital on Saturday, October 11, 2014. Marian was born on July 16, 1924, in Mechanicsburg to the late Robert “Bob-Bob” W. Fish and Alice Catharine “Kitty” Fish. Marian’s son Stephen Chapman Logan died in 2006 and her sister Josephine Langdon Collitt died in 2008.
Marian’s survivors include her daughter, Lauren L. Logan of New York City; her niece, Jessica Gardner and her husband Robert; her nephews, Brad Langdon and his wife Mary Ruth and Peter Langdon and his wife Martha; her daughter in law, Patricia “Pat” Logan; her granddaughter, Jessica Koser; her grandnieces and nephews: Sarah Wyatt, Seth Gardner, Katie Petrov, Shelby Langdon, Jessica Green, and Jeremiah Dempster; two great grandchildren and several great-nieces and nephews.
Marian graduated from Mechanicsburg High School in the Class of 1942, and enjoyed class reunions up to the present. She also graduated from Gettysburg College in 1946 with a degree in elementary education. Marian retired from Cumberland Valley School District in 1987 after 30 years as a second grade teacher at Sporting Hill Elementary School . She formerly worked at the Naval Supply Depot in Mechanicsburg. Marian was a member of Pine Street Presbyterian Church in Harrisburg and was active in its Shawl Ministry. She had been a volunteer at Holy Spirit Hospital. Marian enjoyed reciting poetry including, “Shooting of Dan McGrew”, the Greek alphabet, and favorite hymn verses. She was an accomplished vocalist and pianist, and music was a very important part of her life. Marian enjoyed cooking and baking, especially her favorite food – cookies - and sewing her daughter’s high school wardrobe. She loved traveling to Scotland, London, Italy, Switzerland, and best of all, Cape May, NJ. Marian adored her dogs, Fritzi, Rusty, and Barney. She had a wonderful spontaneous sense of humor.
All are welcome to join Marian’s family at her Gathering of Family and Friends on Saturday, October 25th, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Pine Street Presbyterian Church , 310 North 3rd Street, Harrisburg, PA 17101; with The Rev. Dr. Russell C. Sullivan, Jr. officiating. Marian’s family invites everyone to join them for lunch and fellowship at her church following the service.
