Marian “Mimi” Kathleen (Gingrich) Russell
Had A Big Heart -
Marian “Mimi” Kathleen (Gingrich) Russell, age 74, of Mechanicsburg, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, June 22, 2018. Mimi was born on Sunday, December 19, 1943 in Mifflintown to the late Banks Ostrom Gingrich and Dorothy Mae (Gibbons) Gingrich. In addition to her parents, Mimi is preceded in death by her brother, Milton Gingrich.
Mimi’s survivors include her husband of 52 years, Clarence “Skip” Edgar Russell; her two children: Ralph Richard Russell and his wife, Becky, of Dillsburg, Sharon Lynn Mills and her husband, Brad, of Lemoyne; her four grandchildren: Courtney Russell, Leanna Russell, Joshua Bookamire and his wife, Alexa, Kalyn Bookamire; and one great-grandchild on the way.
Mimi graduated from Juniata Joint High School as part of the class of 1961. She attended Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Enola for 20 years. Mimi was a member of the Camp Hill YMCA for over 13 years where she enjoyed attending a water fitness class. She was a bowler for many years and always had a good time doing so. Mimi was a good cook and was known for the delicious cherry pie she would bake. She also loved to travel and shop, which Mimi did with a great level of frugality. Most importantly, she had a big heart and an ear to lend whenever anyone needed it.
All are welcome to join Mimi’s family at her viewing on Thursday, June 28, 2018, from 11:30 a.m. until time of service at 12:30 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Pastor J.R. Irving officiating. Burial will follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville. Mimi’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Funck’s Family Restaurant, 1805 Fisher Avenue, Annville, PA 17003, immediately following the burial.
