Marilyn Kay (Eakin) Chamberlin

Marilyn Kay (Eakin) Chamberlin, age 69, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023.  Marilyn was born on Wednesday, March 10, 1954, in Mechanicsburg to the late John McCurdy Eakin and Lillian Elizabeth (Haas) Eakin.  

Marilyn’s survivors include her husband of 9 years, Rodney “Rod” Neal Chamberlin; her three step children: Philip Chamberlin and his wife, Andrea; Dale Chamberlin; and Lisa Chamberlin; her two siblings: Kathy Eakin and her husband, Jeff Smith; Michael Eakin and wife, Heidi; her step granddaughters: Avery and Layla; and her nephews and niece: Zachary Eakin, Michael Patrick Eakin, Chase Carter, and Libby Smith.  

Marilyn graduated from Mechanicsburg High School as part of the class of 1972 and from Harcum Junior College in 1974.  She retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue in Harrisburg, in 2019 after many years of service working as a Corporate Tax Examiner.  She enjoyed gardening and was a very good cook.  The many New York state wineries and Alaska were her favorite places to visit.  Marilyn enjoyed celebrating all holidays; but Thanksgiving was her favorite.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.  

All are welcome to join Marilyn’s family at her gathering of family and friends on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at Buhrig Funeral Home & Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Reverend George A. Spangler officiating.  Interment will follow the service in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.  Cremation was private.
