Marilyn “Marty” (Ricketts) Ingalls

Marilyn “Marty” (Ricketts) Ingalls, age 88, of Mechanicsburg , PA, and formerly of Rockville , MD, and Frederick , MD, died on Saturday, June 21, 2014.  Marty was born on Saturday, October 3, 1925 in Olney, MD, to the late Thomas Alva Ricketts and Annette (Riggs) Ricketts.  Marty was the widow of Julian “Thad” Thaddeus Ingalls, to whom she was married for 59 years, and who died on February 14, 2003.

Marty’s survivors include her daughter, Aimee Ingalls Sangrey and her husband, Thomas, of Mechanicsburg; her granddaughter, Tammy Halecky and her husband, Chris, and their children: Joseph, Maria, Theresa, and Jonathan, all of Shiremanstown; her two grandsons: T. Anthony  “Tony” Sangrey and his wife, Carolyn, and their son, Judah, of Harrisburg, and Dr. Thomas “Tommy” Sangrey and his wife, Aliya, of Kazakhstan.

Marty was raised in Rockville and lived there for 50 years before moving to the Frederick area known as Braddock Heights for nearly 30 years following the retirement of her husband from the U.S. Postal Service.  After her husband’s death, Marty moved to Pennsylvania.  She attended the Rockville schools, graduating in 1943 from Richard Montgomery High School .  Marty worked for the Montgomery County Health Department from 1943 to 1948.  She was a member of Country & Town Baptist Church in Mechanicsburg.

All are welcome to join Marty’s family at her memorial service on Saturday, June 28, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at C ountry & Town Baptist Church , 220 Gettysburg Pike, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Reverend Dr. Robert L. Hylton officiating.  Marty’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at her church immediately following the memorial service.  Cremation was private and burial will be at the convenience of the family.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Early Childhood Center at Country & Town Baptist Church , 220 Gettysburg Pike, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
