Mark McCain Lucas, age 62, of Lemoyne, died on Saturday, December 7, 2024. Mark was born on Wednesday, October 10, 1962, in Mechanicsburg to the late Foster L. Lucas, Sr. and Joy Ellen (Duncan) Lucas. 

Mark’s survivors include his wife of 29 years, Nora Louise (Jennings) Lucas; his two sons: Dereck Jennings and wife Casey, of Etters, William Simpers-Lucas of Lemoyne; his two grandchildren; Hunter Godshall, Phoebe Jennings; his two siblings: Audra Day and husband Robert, of Stewartstown, Foster Lucas of Boiling Springs; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. 

Mark graduated from Cumberland Valley High School as part of the class of 1981. Upon graduation, Mark proudly served his country by serving seven years in the Army as a Chemical and Biological Weapons Specialist and then serving 13 years in the PA National Guard in Artillery. He retired in 2018 after 20 years working as a Correctional Officer at the State Correctional Institute Camp Hill and was currently employed at Fisher Auto Parts. Mark was a member and volunteer firefighter of the West Shore Bureau of Fire. He held a deep appreciation for beach vacations, which brought him immense joy. In his earlier years, Mark was a passionate golfer. He took great interest in attending local sprint car racing events at Williams Grove, Lincoln, and BAPS Speedways. Mark also enjoyed visiting casinos and spending time with his late father-in-law fishing in Maryland. He was a man of faith who enjoyed attending Sunday service at Turning Point Church. However, his most treasured moments were those spent with his family, particularly the date nights he shared with his wife Nora.

All are welcome to join Mark’s family at his gathering of family and friends on Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until a celebration of life at 11:30 a.m. at Buhrig Funeral & Cremation, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Pastor George Spangler officiating. Military honors will be presented by the Cumberland County Honor Guard immediately following the service. Cremation was private.
