Martha Eleanore (Tapajcik) Huck

Martha Eleanore (Tapajcik) Huck, 80, of Mechanicsburg , died at Holy Spirit Hospital on Friday, October 26, 2012.  She was born in Hellertown, on Saturday, August 15, 1932, daughter of the late John Tapajcik and Polin Tapajcik.  Martha was the widow of Vincent A. Huck, the love of her life, to whom she was married for almost 40 years.

Martha graduated from Hellertown High School . She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mechanicsburg. Martha led an active life and enjoyed watching local athletic events, including Trinity High School basketball and Mechanicsburg sandlot baseball. She swam almost daily and taught swimming to many youngsters at Sun & Splash pool. Martha volunteered at Holy Spirit Hospital, the YMCA and the election polls. She also babysat for many families and became a special part of those families.

Martha’s survivors include her loving sons, Kevin A. Huck of Gaithersburg, MD and his companion Willa Irvin, Eric A. Huck and his wife Amy of Lewisberry; two granddaughters, Nichol A. Baird and her husband Colin of Tarawa Terrace, NC, and Danielle A. Lambert and her husband Tom of Dushore, PA, a great-grandson, Callum A. Baird, and several nieces and nephews, with whom she was very close.

All are welcome to join Martha’s family at her Gathering of Family and Friends on Saturday, November 24, 2012, from 9:00 until a time of remembrance at 10:45 at Myers–Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. A graveside service will immediately follow in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
