Martha L. (Baker) Warner

Martha L. (Baker) Warner, 84, of Mechanicsburg, PA, entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 14, 2012.

Martha was born in Lewistown, PA on April 21, 1927, daughter of the late Etta (Hommel) and David Baker. She was the widow of James E. Warner to whom she was married 62 years.

Martha was a faithful member of Bible Baptist Church in Shiremanstown for over 50 years. She worked side by side for over 40 years with her husband as the office manager for Warner Chiropractic in Mechanicsburg.

As a 1945 graduate of Derry Township High School in Yeagertown, PA, she was an outstanding basketball player and lettered all four years.

She was a devoted wife and mother and especially enjoyed her grandchildren. Her favorite pastime was rooting for the Phillies.

Martha is survived by her three children: son, Michael R.Warner, husband of Renee Warner, of Mechanicsburg; son, J. Todd Warner of Davidson, NC; daughter, Deborah Barr of Camp Hill; eight grandchildren; five siblings: Etta Henry of Lewistown; Nancy Francis of Quebec; Bruce Baker of Newburgh, NY; Shirley Morgan of Lewistown and Ray Baker of Mifflintown. She was preceded in death by nine other siblings.

All are welcome to join Martha’s family at her visitation on Saturday, February 18, 2012, from 10:00 until time of service at 11:00 at Bible Baptist Church in Shiremanstown with Pastor Ron Berrus officiating. Burial will immediately follow in Mechanicsburg Cemetery, Mechanicsburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bible Baptist Church of Shiremanstown.

Arrangements are entrusted to Myers-Buhrig Funeral Home , 37 E. Main St. Mechanicsburg.
