Always a Positive Attitude -

Mary Ellen (Workman) Eisenhauer, 75, of Mechanicsburg died Monday, December 12, 2011 at Holy Spirit Hospital.  She was born on Tuesday, July 28, 1936 in Lebanon the daughter of the late James Melbryne and Marion Emma (Moyer) Workman and she was the widow of Edward Mayer who died in 1962.  Mary married Donald “Ike” John Eisenhauer, who survives her, on August 3, 1963.

Mary retired from Commercial Union Insurance in Mechanicsburg in 2001.  She was a member of Saint Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Mechanicsburg.  Mary was a practical woman who always remembered where she came from.  She always had the most positive attitude and rarely if ever was heard to complain.  Mary was a devoted and caring mother and grandmother, and she greatly enjoyed the time she spent camping, for over 40 years having begun in 1966, with her husband, Don.

Mary’s survivors include her loving husband of over 48 years: Donald “Ike” John Eisenhauer of Mechanicsburg; three sons: Richard Mayer of Dillsburg, Dennis Mayer of Dillsburg, Donald Eisenhauer Jr of Fredericksburg; one daughter: Anne Platt of Camp Hill; one brother: James Workman of Fredericksburg; nine grandsons; three granddaughters, two great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  Mary is preceded in death by a son: David Lee Eisenhauer; a daughter: Debra Ann Mayer; a granddaughter: Mary Collett Mayer.

All are welcome to join Mary’s family at her visitation on Thursday, December 15, 2011, from 10:00 until time of service at 10:30 at Saint Katharine Drexel Catholic Church , 1 Peter Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA, 17050 with Reverend Stephen D. Weitzel celebrating.  Burial will immediately follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Mechanicsburg.  Honored to be pallbearers are: Richard Mayer, Jonathan Mayer, Dennis Mayer, Steven Mayer, Donald Eisenhauer and Justin Eisenhauer.  Mary’s family invites everyone to join them for a Time of Food and Fellowship at her church on Thursday following the burial.
