Mary Esther (Brown) Moore, age 77, of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, February 11, 2025. Born on October 28, 1947, in Baltimore, Mary was the beloved daughter of the late William Robertson and Pearl (Trueheart) Robertson.

Mary was the devoted wife of the late Curtis Moore, whom she married on July 8, 1978. Together, they built a life filled with love and cherished memories until his passing on August 11, 2020. In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her sisters, Ardie Royster-Jones and Doris Pettus.

Mary’s legacy lives on through her children, Christen Moore and spouse Tonya of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, and Curtis Brown of Hagerstown, Maryland. She was the grandmother of Curtis, Dontae, Shiekia, and Tyrae, and a great-grandmother. She is also survived by six siblings: John Moore of Baltimore, Joseph Robertson (Darlene) of Baltimore, Dorothy Brown of Baltimore, Vanessa Moore (Larry) of Skipwith, Virginia, Virginia Queen of Glen Burnie, Maryland, and Stella Bell (Arthur) of Tacoma, Washington, two brothers-in-law, Lewis and James; two sisters-in-law, Rosa and Sudie Mae; and many nieces and nephews.

Mary graduated from Carver Vocational High School in the Class of 1965 and enjoyed a successful career as a driver for Yellow Transportation in Columbia, Maryland, before her retirement. She was also a skilled seamstress and professional hair stylist.

Mary’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was baptized at New Cornerstone Baptist Church in Baltimore and later became an active member of Concord Baptist Church in Virginia, where she joyfully sang in the choir. A proud member of the Eastern Star, Mary lived her life with grace and a strong belief in God.

Family was Mary’s greatest joy. She loved spending time with her loved ones, sharing laughter, and creating memories. Her faith shone through her daily life, whether she was reading the Bible, playing the piano, or listening to gospel music. Mary also had a passion for watching movies, particularly Westerns, which brought her comfort and joy.

Mary will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched with her kindness, warmth, and unwavering love.

A celebration of Mary’s life will take place on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Spiritual Temple at Christian Unity Temple, 3900 Groveland Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21215, with Bishop George Stanton officiating. A repast will follow in the Church Hall.
