Mary Virginia (Wenrich) Richards
A Beautiful Woman -
Mary Virginia (Wenrich) Richards, 94, of Camp Hill , died at Thornwald Home in Carlisle on Saturday, September 14, 2013. She was born in Harrisburg, on Thursday, March 13, 1919, daughter of the late Wilkins G. Wenrich and Bertha A. (Miller) Wenrich. Mary was the widow of Lester Lewis Richards, Jr. whom she married on September 24, 1944.
Mary’s survivors include her loving children, Lester W. Richards and his wife Alice of SC, Gregory L. Richards and his wife Leslie of SC, Virginia L. Myers of Camp Hill, Lewis A. Richards and his wife Kara of State College; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; her sister, Margaret Stuckey; and several nieces and nephews. Among those preceding Mary in death is her brother George Wenrich.
Mary graduated from William Penn High School as part of the class of 1937. She retired from West Shore School District , and was a former employee of Bell Telephone and Kessler’s at the West Shore Farmers Market . Mary was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Camp Hill. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, traveling with her husband, and playing cards with her family. Mary also loved playing golf at Carlisle Country Club with her husband, where they both were members. Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending family reunions.
All are welcome to join Mary’s family at her visitation on Thursday, September 19, 2013 from 10:00 until time of service at 11:00 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church , 1610 Carlisle Road, Camp Hill, PA, with Pastor Evan Houck officiating. Mary’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at her church following the service. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
