Beautiful Christian Woman -

Mary Ann (Griffiths) Moyer, age 78, of Mechanicsburg , unexpectedly passed from this life to spend eternity with our Lord and Savior on Friday, February 13, 2015.  Mary Ann was born on Sunday, June 21, 1936 in Peckville, PA to the late William Thomas Griffiths and Mildred (Engles) Griffiths.  In addition to her parents, Mary Ann is preceded in death by her brothers: William Griffiths and Eugene Griffiths.

Mary Ann’s survivors include her loving husband of 58 years, Robert “Bob” Ronald Moyer; her children:  Pamela “Pam” A. Wise and her husband, Kirk, of Mechanicsburg, Ron Moyer of Virginia, Katherine “Kathy” Y. Kautz and her husband, Brian, of Enola, J. Andrew “Andy” Moyer and his wife, Shannon, of Mechanicsburg, Jennifer “Jen” E. Tanksley and her husband, Scott, of Georgia; her 11 grandchildren; and her siblings:  Edith “Edie” Bower and her husband, James, of Mechanicsburg, Ruth “Cookie” Griffiths of Dillsburg, Thomas Griffiths and his wife, Donna, of Carlisle, and Robert Griffiths and his wife, Lori, of Mechanicsburg.

Mary Ann graduated as part of the class of 1954 from Mechanicsburg High School , where she played basketball and performed in every musical and in a traveling choral group.  She was primarily a homemaker, but Mary Ann worked in various capacities at Baker’s Nursing Home , Bell Telephone , and Beverly’s Bridal . She was a Red Cross certified swimming instructor at the Mechanicsburg Pool , West Shore YMCA , and Mary Ann found it most gratifying instructing children through the Capital Area Intermediate Unit .  Mary Ann was a founding member of Hope Grace Brethren Church in Dillsburg; where she served as a Sunday school teacher, a deaconess, a member of the hospitality committee, led Bible study groups, participated in Women of Hope and Golden Agers, and shared her love for singing through performing both in the choir and as a soloist.  Among Mary Ann’s favorite pastimes were cooking, baking, and pre-Christmas shopping trips.  Mary Ann enjoyed spending time outdoors, and she had a special fondness for flowers, cows, and dogs.  Her family remembers Mary Ann as a modest, private, humble, and beautiful Christian woman who loved holidays, birthdays, and who loved her family most of all.

All are welcome to join Mary Ann’s family at her viewing on Wednesday, February 18, 2015, from 12:00 to 1:45 p.m. and for her funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at Hope Grace Brethren Church , 110 Old York Road, Dillsburg, PA 17019; with Pastor George Traub officiating.  Mary Ann’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at her church following the service.  Burial in Mechanicsburg Cemetery will be private and at the family’s convenience.

The family suggests memorial contributions to her church, Hope Grace Brethren Church , 110 Old York Road, Dillsburg, PA 17019; or Alzheimer’s Association – Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, 3544 North Progress Avenue, Suite 205, Harrisburg, PA  17110; or American Diabetes  Association, 301 Chestnut Street, Suite #101, Harrisburg, PA 17101.
