Mauro’s survivors include wife of 55 years, Soledad Estojero (Lacaba) Tolentino; his four children: Minda Lacaba Tolentino of Camp Hill, Ferdinand “Ferdy” Lacaba Tolentino and his wife, Melinda, of New Cumberland, Esmeralda Tolentino Garcia and her husband, Jose, of Centre Hall, Benedicto Lacaba Tolentino and his wife, Mariecris, of Camp Hill; his eight grandchildren: Jed Arnold Tolentino, Basil Erik Tolentino, Gavriella Tolentino Silvestre, Anne Danielle Ford, Patricia Mariz Tolentino, Neil Patrick Tolentino, Athena Jan Tolentino, Christian Benedict Tolentino; his two sisters: Lorna Tolentino Samonte, Malabon City, Phillippines, Dolora Tolentino Quijano and her husband, Jaime, of Malabon City, Philippines; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dogs: Fluffy, Coco, Jack and Storm.

Mauro started working at a very young age, helping his mother, who was a street vendor in the Philippines.  He later worked in a tannery while attending school.  The hard work and dangerous working conditions inspired him to complete his education. Mauro graduated from National Teachers College High School in Malabon City, Philippines and from Technological University of the Philippines with a degree in electrical engineering. After completing his education, Mauro worked for Malabon City as an electrical engineer; and later retired from Showboat Casino in Atlantic City, NJ, after many years of service working as a security officer.  Because Mauro was so friendly, always smiling and laughing; he was recognized by the casino as their most congenial employee.  Mauro was a member of St. Theresa Parish in New Cumberland; and a member of Philippine-American Association of Central Pennsylvania.  Mauro loved to be in the outdoors and was very active and loved to garden, swim and play tennis. His favorite time of the year was Christmas and he loved to see the bright, twinkling lights.  He always made sure to have a Christmas tree with lights, even when money was tight.  Mauro’s valued his education and what it allowed him to do; and he emphasized its value and encouraged his family to be educated.  His family remembers how much he loved them; and that he was always willing to help anyone in need, especially his family.
