Melvin “Rowdy” Harry McClintock

Melvin “Rowdy” Harry McClintock, age 85, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Shermansdale, passed away at West Shore Hospital on Monday, August 8, 2016. Melvin was born on Monday, November 17, 1930 in Mechanicsburg to the late Roy McClintock and Betsy (Fuller) McClintock. In addition to his parents, Melvin is preceded in death by his 12 brothers and sisters.
Melvin’s survivors include his two children: Susan “Sue” McClintock of Mechanicsburg, Melvin “Junior” McClintock, Jr.; his loving granddaughter, Angie McClintock-Grove and her husband, Andy, of Mechanicsburg; his two great-grandchildren: Sabrina, Toby; his two siblings: Clyde McClintock of Mechanicsburg, Jean Diller of Newport; his wife (separated), Sophia McClintock of Carlisle; and several nieces and nephews.
Melvin attended Williamsport College of Technology becoming a certified mechanic and transmissions specialist. A talented mechanic, Melvin fixed everything from his 1970 Volkswagen Bug to the 1990’s Diller’s disposal trucks. He could truly fix anything. Melvin worked as a mechanic at numerous businesses including: L.B. Smith, Freysinger, and Diller’s. His passion was both fixing things and loving animals. His heart ultimately belonged to his family and his pets.
All are welcome to join Melvin’s family at his memorial service on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at Silver Spring Gardens Community Room, 24 Ashburg Drive, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050. Cremation was private.
