Loved and Cherished his Family -
Michael Arnold Kennedy, age 57, of Enola, and formerly of Sewell, NJ, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 6, 2019. He was born on Sunday, September 16, 1962 in Huntingdon to Michael Stanton Kennedy, Jr. and Sheila Kay (Arnold) Young. Michael is preceded in death by his father-in-law, Dale Neidig.
Michael’s survivors include his loving wife of 31 years, Melissa “Missi” Ann (Neidig) Kennedy; his son, Stanton Kennedy of Enola; his father, Michael “Mike” Kennedy, Jr. of New Cumberland; his mother, Sheila Young and her husband, Charles, of Mechanicsburg; his two siblings: Chris Kennedy of Sunderland, MD, Sherri Gardjulis and her husband, Clido, of Mechanicsburg; his mother-in-law, Deanna Morrison and her husband, Dave, of Enola; his sister-in-law, Sherri Bryant of Virginia Beach, VA; and several nieces and nephews.
Michael graduated from Cumberland Valley High School as part of the class of 1980 and from the University of Pittsburgh in 1984 with a bachelor’s degree in political science. He served in the United States Army National Guard and attained the rank of captain upon his discharge in 1992. Michael worked for both Roadway Express, Inc. and Daylight Transport, LLC as a sales representative prior to starting his own logistics business. He was a former member of the Elks Lodge #2708 in Deptford, NJ. Michael enjoyed watching football and hockey; he was a big fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Flyers, and Phillies. Not only did he watch hockey, Michael played and coached the sport. He also liked going to the beach, particularly the Outer Banks in North Carolina. Michael was a simple man. He was loving, funny, and a great friend. Michael truly loved, cherished, and provided for his family.
All are welcome to join Michael’s family for a time of gathering and refreshments on Monday, December 16, 2019, from 12:30 p.m. until time of Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m. at Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Reverend Michael V. Minnix officiating. Please wear casual and comfortable clothing, as Michael would want. Cremation was private.
