Mike graduated from Virginia Tech in 1996 with a degree in Finance and a minor in Spanish. He served in the finance departments and as treasurer of several companies during his career and since 2008 he served as treasurer of Riviana Foods, Inc. based in Harrisburg. Mike was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was serving as Bishop of the Camp Hill Ward, a position he began on March 22, 2015. Prior to that, Mike served in Osorno, Chile as a full time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from May of 1991 until May of 1993. Mike began excelling and leading early in life which became evident when he earned the rank of Eagle Scout at the young age of 13. From his youth and throughout his life, Mike was a patriotic man.
Mike enjoyed many simple pleasures in life like: traveling, sports, history, Star Wars, James Bond movies, eating out, and of course, Coke over Pepsi. He was a man with a dry sense of humor. One might even say that he liked to be snarky. Disney World was a special love of Mike’s, as was Hilton Head Island. Spending time with his family at these special places was some of the best time of his life. He was a loving husband, father, son and brother who loved his family and his church deeply. His life was all too short. He will be forever loved and remembered.
