Michael “Mike” John Leggore
Devoted to His Family -
Michael “Mike” John Leggore, age 69, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Middletown, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2019, after a courageous battle with cancer. Mike was born on Friday, May 20, 1949 in Harrisburg to the late John Harvey Leggore and Coretta Jeannette (Parker) Ditzler. In addition to his parents, Mike is preceded in death by his two brothers: LeRoy Leggore, Randolph Leggore; and his sister, Linda Costley.
Mike’s survivors include his wife of 41 years, Sandra “Sandy” Lee (Morrow) Leggore; his three children: Shannon Leggore-Towe and her husband, Casey, of Enola, Kevin Leggore of Camp Hill, Jody Leggore of New Cumberland; his six grandchildren: Antonio, Collin, Alanna, Kevin, Morgan, Nicholas; his two great-grandchildren: Braydon, Liryc; his seven siblings: Gerald Leggore and his wife, Susan, of Elizabethtown, John Leggore and his wife, April, of Mount Joy, Leon Richcreek and his wife, Marlene, of Manchester, Donna Harper and her husband, William, of King George, VA, Dorothy Hetrick and her significant other, Bradley Zirkle, of Dover, Shirley Lehman and her husband, Nelson, of Mount Wolf, Loretta Leggore and her significant other, Michael Adams, of Felton; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful feline companion.
Mike retired from Kraft Automotive in Harrisburg, after 25 years of service working as an inspection mechanic. During his retirement, he worked as a driver for Federated Auto Parts in Dillsburg. Mike enjoyed playing golf and was an avid outdoorsman, who loved boating and fishing on the river. He taught his kids how to work on cars and use power tools. Mike took great pride in the fact that nobody in the family has beaten his high score in Pac Man. His family will remember him fondly; from Mike’s great sense of humor to how he was willing to go out of his way to help anyone. They will greatly miss their kind and loving husband, father, grandfather and provider.
All are welcome to join Mike’s family at his viewing on Saturday, February 9, 2019, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055. Cremation was private.
