Mildred Elizabeth (Paulus) Walters

Caring & Supportive Mother -

Mildred Elizabeth (Paulus) Walters, 100, of Camp Hill , and formerly of Mechanicsburg , died at Golden Living Center on Thursday, January 30, 2014.  She was born in Perry County, on Tuesday, February 4, 1913, daughter of the late Murray Paulus and Florence (Stone) Paulus.  Mildred was the widow of Frank Harry Walters whom she married on July 30, 1932 and who died on February 1, 1989.

Mildred’s survivors include her loving children, Robert Walters of Mechanicsburg, Glenda Jones of Carlisle, Patricia Gochenour and husband Ken of Mechanicsburg, Nancy Walters of Mechanicsburg, Peggy Thran of Mechanicsburg; 21 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 41 great-great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Miriam Paulus of FL; and several nieces and nephews.  Among those preceding Mildred in death are two grandchildren; and her siblings, Romaine Heiges, Brenard Paulus, and Chester Paulus.

Mildred was employed as a seamstress at several dress factories in the Mechanicsburg and Harrisburg areas.  She was a member of Hope United Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg. Mildred loved to garden, crochet and sew. She was a very loving, giving, supportive woman who most of all was a “wonderful Mother”.

All are welcome to join Mildred’s family at her viewing on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Hope United Methodist Church , 6260 Carlisle Pike, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, with Pastor Samuel Velez-Irizarry officiating.  Burial will immediately follow in St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church Cemetery in Enola.  Mildred’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at her church following the burial.

The family suggests memorial contributions to AseraCare Hospice , 75 South Houcks Road, Harrisburg, PA 17109.
