Mildred “Millie” Catherine (Taylor) Weber
A Strong and Positive Woman –
Mildred “Millie” Catherine (Taylor) Weber, age 63, of Mechanicsburg, went home peacefully with her loving family by her side on Friday, October 26, 2018. Millie was born on Sunday, June 26, 1955 in Harrisburg to Delores Jean (Horgan) Taylor and the late Nathan Taylor. Millie was the widow of Kent Nevin Weber, whom she married on October 7, 2000, and who died on January 9, 2014. In addition to her father and husband, Millie is preceded in death by her two siblings: Nathan Eugene Taylor and Linda Lee Gutshall.
Millie’s survivors include her two children: Crissy R. Kumler and her husband, Shane, of Dillsburg, Todd S. Weber of Mechanicsburg; her two grandsons: Ian and Landon Kumler of Dillsburg; her mother, Delores “Jean” Taylor of Mechanicsburg; her three siblings: Jody R. McDade and her husband, Richard, of New Cumberland, William “Bill” S. Taylor and his companion, Debra Bernstein, of Enola, Gary J. Taylor and his wife, Rebecca, of Orange Park, FL; several nieces and nephews, many friends, and her beloved feline companion, Tommy.
Millie graduated from Mechanicsburg High School as part of the class of 1973. She worked as a chef at Noonan’s Tavern at Range End Golf Club in Dillsburg. She also served as a cook and caterer at the Navy Depot Officer’s Club and American Legion Post #109 in Mechanicsburg. Millie was a member of the Lower Allen VFW Post 7530, American Legion Post #109 Ladies Auxiliary, and The EDGE Church in Camp Hill. She loved to cook and knew how to throw a holiday party, even down to the matching plates and decorations. Millie enjoyed planning the details of each party to ensure that all of her guests would be well taken care of. She doted on her grandsons and looked forward to spending time with her family, especially going on their annual vacations to the beach. Millie was an extremely social woman who loved spending time with her friends. She also had quite the sweet tooth for cookies, chocolate, and any homemade baked goods from a market. Millie will be most remembered for her strength and resilience, which she exhibited most over the past year.
All are welcome to join Millie’s family at her gathering of family and friends on Friday, November 2, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Pastor Rick Sullivan officiating. Millie’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at The Mechanicsburg Club, 333 Heinz Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, immediately following the service. Cremation was private.
The family sends their most heartfelt thanks to Dr. Kumudini Rao and Nurse Lisa from Andrews and Patel Associates in Camp Hill and everyone at Hospice of Central Pennsylvania who so lovingly cared for Millie during her illness.
