Always Willing to Lend a Helping Hand -

Miles Leonard Hull, age 56, of Shermans Dale, and formerly of Dillsburg, passed away at home unexpectedly on Friday, January 19, 2018.  Miles was born on Wednesday, June 7, 1961 in Frankfurt, Germany to Doris Ann (Boddorf) Hull Thumma and the late G. Leonard Hull.  In addition to his father, Miles is preceded in death by his uncle, Harry Hull; and his aunt, Joyce Bradman.

Miles’ survivors include his wife of 35 years, Anna Louise (Moore) Hull; his four children: Steven “Steve” Westbrook and his wife, Tammy, and their son, Steven, of Shermans Dale, Carol Notarmaso and her husband, Sergio, and their children: Gianluca and Gina, of Collegeville, Brian Westbrook and his wife, Judy, and their children: Justin and Emily, of Bremen, KY, Wayne Westbrook and his wife, Kristina, and their children: Nicholas and Brandon, of Bonners Ferry, ID; his mother, Dorris Hull Thumma and her husband, Richard, of Shermans Dale; his three sisters: Anita Dukes, Teresa Adams, Valerie Perko; several nieces and nephews; and his three beloved canine companions: Tinkerbelle, Coty, and Muffin.

Miles attended Northern High School in Dillsburg.  He worked as a truck driver for 36 years; a career that Miles grew to love and become a master at.  He worked for 13 years hauling freight from Rose Transportation, Inc., Matlack Trucking, Inc. for many years driving a tanker, and most recently, hauling logs.  Miles was a skilled mechanic who worked on all of his own equipment.  He was always willing to lend a helping hand to any of his friends who needed something fixed.  Miles was the kind of person who would take the shirt off of his back for anyone in need.  He also loved to play guitar and build various items with wood, some of which were for his family’s home.

All are welcome to join Miles’ family at his viewing on Thursday, January 25, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Reverend Jack Herman officiating.  Burial will follow in Snyder’s Cemetery in New Bloomfield.  Honored to be pallbearers are: Kyle Adams, Matthew Adams, Joseph Perko, Brian Westbrook, Steven Westbrook, and Wayne Westbrook.  Miles’ family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at the Carroll Township Community Center, 255 Church Road, Shermans Dale, PA 17090, following the burial.
