Miriam Virginia (Roush) Shipe, 82, of Carlisle died Monday, November 7, 2011 at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. She was born on Tuesday, July 9, 1929 in Mechanicsburg the daughter of the late Alexander Bruce and Cordula Mae Roush.
Miriam gave her heart and soul to raising her eight children. She was a loving, caring and understanding Mother who was extremely devoted to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Miriam enjoyed sending and receiving greeting cards, cooking for her family and country music.
Surviving and cherishing Miriam’s memories include her loving husband of 40 years: James R. Koenig of Carlisle; her five loving sons: Clarence of Boiling Springs; Frank of Carlisle; John “Bill” and his wife Chong of Georgia; Carl and his companion Norma of Carlisle; and Earl of Harrisburg; three loving daughters: Virginia Shipe of California; Wanda and her husband Nathaniel of Harrisburg; Miriam Cordova and her husband Abdulio of Carlisle; 25 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Vance and Herman Roush; a grandson who she loved and raised as her own: Michael Shipe; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters: Annette Kuhn and Edith McConnell and a brother: Paul Roush.
All are welcome to join Miriam’s family at her viewing on Friday, November 11, 2011, from 9:00 until time of service at 10:00 at
