Miriam “Mim” Catherine (Hamilton) Eichelberger, age 82, of Mechanicsburg , died peacefully at home and surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, March 17, 2015. Mim was born on Saturday, March 26, 1932 in Gardners to the late George Albert Hamilton and Grace Lula (Howe) Hamilton. In addition to her parents, Mim is preceded in death by her siblings: Robert Franklin Hamilton, Ruth Agnes (Hamilton) Miller, Betty Jane (Hamilton) Miller, Blondena June (Hamilton) Kramer, Joyce Arlene Baker Minnich; and her son-in-law, John Northrup.
Mim’s survivors include her loving husband of almost 67 years, Marlin “Ike” Charles Eichelberger; her daughters: Sherry Northrup of Mechanicsburg, Lynda Herr and her husband, Frank, of Carlisle; her grandchildren: Ronald Potteiger, Kim Martin, Tammy Furman, Jeremy Herr; her great-grandchildren: Hope Stansfield, Joshua Markham, Carson Martin, Alanah Smith, Madalyn Herr; her great great-grandson who is on the way; and her siblings: Charles Hamilton and Pauline Fanus.
Mim was a member of St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Enola for over 40 years. Mim enjoyed making jelly to give away to her neighbors and baking chocolate chip cookies for her grandchildren, who were the joys of her life. She especially liked to attend her grandchildren’s sporting events. Mim loved Easter, Easter egg hunts, spending time at the beach, or in the mountains of Potter County, or at her daughter’s cabin in Lycoming County.
All are welcome to join Mim’s family at her gathering of family and friends on Friday, March 20, 2015, from 12:30 p.m. until time of funeral service at 1:30 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Pastor Ken Fornicola officiating. Burial will follow in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens in Carlisle.
