Monica “Boo” Anne Martyak

Monica “Boo” Anne Martyak, age 50, of Cape May Courthouse, NJ and formerly of Hazleton, PA passed away at the home of her sister on Monday, January 11, 2021.  Monica was born on Wednesday, October 14, 1970, in Hazelton to Judith Mary (Sullivan) Martyak and the late Dr. Nicholas Anthony Martyak. In addition to father, Monica is preceded in death by her beloved feline companion, Jelly.

Monica’s survivors include her mother, Judith Mary (Sullivan) Martyak of Harrisburg; her five siblings: Dr. Nicholas “Nick” Anthony Paul Martyak, and wife, Catherine, of Atlanta, GA; Gregory “Greg” Emil Martyak and wife, Angela, of Philadelphia; Michael “Mike” David Martyak and wife, Laura, of Fayetteville, NC; Christine “Chris” Yolanda Martyak of Fayetteville, NC; Stephanie Anne Kominski and husband, Albert, of Enola; her several nieces and nephews; and her beloved feline companions: Sebastian, Chewbacca and Han Solo.

Monica graduated from M.M.I Prep School, New York University, Scranton University and Weidner Law School.  Monica is employed as a lawyer for Pro Sight Specialty Insurance in Morristown, NJ.  Monica’s favorite places were Stone Harbor and Avalon, NJ because of her love of the ocean.  She loved her cats and relished the love and attention that they offered. Monica was a beloved aunt, who was very involved with the lives of her nieces and nephews.  Monica’s family and friends remember her as incredibly considerate and caring and will miss her greatly.

Monica’s immediate services will be private while family and friends are encouraged to remain safely at home.  Services with public gathering will be announced once scheduled.  Cremation was private.
