Moriem “Mary” Mollick
Wonderful Mother and Grandmother -
Moriem “Mary” Mollick, age 78, of Mechanicsburg, and formerly of Panama City, Panama, was embraced by Jesus with her loving family by her side on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, after a long battle with heart disease. Mary was born on Friday, August 6, 1937, in Panama City, Panama, to the late Antonio Mollick and Fidelina (Garcia) Mollick. Mary was the widow of Dwayne Allan Strothers, Sr., whom she married in 1954 and who died in 1975.
Mary’s survivors include her two children: Johanna Kahlenborn and her husband, Dr. Chris Kahlenborn, and their daughter, Mary Ann, all of Mechanicsburg, and Dwayne Strothers, Jr. and his wife, Delta, and their three children: Dwayne Strothers III, Anthony Strothers, Alvin Strothers, all of Panama City, Panama; and several nieces and nephews.
Born and raised in Panama, Mary graduated from Maria Inmaculada High School as part of the class of 1955 and from Panama City University in 1957. She spent some years working in real estate. A devout Roman Catholic with a strong faith in God, Mary was very devoted to the Holy Trinity and enjoyed praying the Rosary for others, especially for those most in need. Mary had a very merciful and charitable heart and a special gift of charity toward the poor and children. She enjoyed sewing, watching Judge Judy, playing baby dolls with her granddaughter, eating dark chocolates and cooking. She used to be an avid swimmer, often swimming in the ocean near sharks, and even qualifying for the Olympics, which she did not attend due to her father’s concerns over her traveling at a young age. Mary also enjoyed riding motorcycles in her youth and solving math problems. Most of all, Mary enjoyed her family and will be very missed by her family and friends who will long remember her as a wonderful mother and grandmother.
