104 Years of Memories -

Myrl Irene (Klinger) Heckert, 104, of Camp Hill and formerly of Harrisburg died at Manor Care in Camp Hill on Thursday, May 3, 2012.  She was born in Berrysburg on Wednesday, February 26, 1908, daughter of the late Frank Klinger and Sadie (Rothermal) Klinger.  Myrl was the widow of Albert “Al” Calvin Heckert who she married on February 28, 1925 and who died on October 24, 1989.

Myrl was a life-long member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Harrisburg.  She was a woman of strong will and personality.  Myrl loved being at home and was a proud homemaker who was known for her baking, especially her pies.  She lived independently and in her own home until the age of 97.

Myrl’s survivors include her loving niece, Myrl V. (Rittner) Busler, who she raised as her daughter since the age of two.  She is also survived by her great-niece: Nicole “Nicki” Davis and her husband Tim of Maryland; her great-nephew: Jeffrey Busler of Mechanicsburg; her brother: Paul Klinger of Mechanicsburg; and many nieces and nephews.  Among those preceding Myrl in death are her two brothers: Elmer and Robert; and her three sisters: Martha, Fay and Esther.

All are welcome to join Myrl’s family at her viewing on Monday, May 7, 2012, from 2:00 until time of funeral service at 3:00 with a farewell service to immediately follow all at Myers–Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, 17055, with Reverend Mary Medkeff-Rose officiating.  Honored to be pallbearers are: Brian Bashore, Chris Bashore, Tim Davis, Jeff Busler, David Harrington and Jack Shelton.  Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Rolling Green Memorial Park , Camp Hill.  Myrl’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at Hoss’s Restaurant in Mechanicsburg following the farewell service.
