Nancy May (Donbaugh) Crider, age 81, of Shermans Dale , and formerly of Mechanicsburg , died peacefully at West Shore Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, July 24, 2015. Nancy was born on Tuesday, November 7, 1933 in Pottsville, to the late Charles Donbaugh and Hazel (Rarick) Donbaugh. In addition to her parents, Nancy is preceded in death by her sister, Beverly Ensinger; and her five brothers: Robert Donbaugh, John Donbaugh, Edward Donbaugh, Barry Putt, and Donald Putt.
Nancy’s survivors include her sons: Jack Crider and his wife, Tammy, of York Haven, Joe Crider and his wife, Candy, of Shermans Dale; her five grandchildren: Crystal Kay, Cory Crider, Ashley Beck, Autumn Clark, Heather Crider; her four (and one on the way) great-grandchildren: Alexa and Seth Beck, Peyton and Kennedy Crider; her seven siblings: Rhoda Troup, Shirley Ream, Joan Conway, Carol Ann Rodehaver, Margaret Cassett, Lester Putt, Charles Donbaugh; and several nieces and nephews.
Nancy was an honest, no-nonsense “firecracker” and the family “go to” to find out what was happening in everyone’s life. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, reading, dancing, listening to country music, cooking, and baking with her sisters. Her family was very fond of Nancy’s homemade fudge and pineapple upside down cakes. Nancy appreciated all things timeless and classic; and she particularly loved to watch old Westerns, Shirley Temple movies and Christmas classics. Above all, Nancy was very giving and loving, especially with her sons and grandchildren.
Nancy’s family will be remembering her life privately. Burial in Rolling Green Cemetery in Camp Hill will be at the family’s convenience.
