Always Waving from the Doorway -

Nancy Irene (Yeatter) Hench Rider, age 83, of Mechanicsburg, was reunited with her loving family in heaven while being comforted at home by her loved ones on earth on Saturday, October 1, 2016.  Nancy was born on Saturday, September 2, 1933 in Doylesburg, PA to the late Herman Hoyt Yeatter and Celestia Frances (Harris) Yeatter.  Nancy was the widow of Ronald “Ron” Wade Hench, whom she married on September 2, 1955 and who died on January 1, 1987; and of Eugene “Gene” R. Nancy loved to cook and bake.  If you attended any of the Mechanicsburg School District schools you might remember Nancy as a member of the cafeteria team as she worked there for years.  She also enjoyed her time working at Roy Roger’s in the Capital City Mall.  Her baking was legendary and she often blessed those who knew her with delicious treats.  Nancy’s backyard was the gathering place for everyone and a place where fun could always be found.  Nancy enjoyed the casinos and loved taking bus trips to Atlantic City where she hit big once.  In recent years, Hollywood Casino was her favorite place to visit and try her luck.  As her family and friends offer their final farewell to Nancy they remember her standing in her doorway waving goodbye until out of sight.  Nancy may be out of sight buy she will always be remembered by those she loved and those who loved her.

All are welcome to join Nancy’s family at her viewing on Friday, October 7, 2016, from 11:30 a.m. until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Ashley Trimmer, Nancy’s granddaughter, officiating.  Burial will follow in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.  Honored to be pallbearers are: Donald Hench, Koni Hench, Matthew Hench, Aaron Trimmer, Corbin Trimmer, Curran Trimmer, and Nate Trimmer.  Nancy’s family invites everyone to join them for a meal celebrating Nancy’s life at the Lisburn Community Fire Company, 1800 Main Street (Lisburn), Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.  Guests are invited to bring a food item and their best stories and remembrances of Nancy to share.
