Nancy F. Sheriff

A Loving Wife, Mother and Grandmother -

Nancy F. (Procasco) Sheriff, age 89, of Mechanicsburg, went home to be with her Lord with her loving family nearby on Tuesday, July 16, 2019.  Nancy was born on Friday, April 18, 1930 in Enola to the late Robert Henry Procasco and Edith (Kling) Procasco.  Nancy was the widow of George Andrew Sheriff, Sr., whom she married on September 10, 1950, and who died on February 15, 1994.  In addition to her parents and husband, Nancy is preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Shatto; and her three sisters, Edith Egan, Norma Egan and Louise Pryor.

Nancy’s survivors include her four children: Valerie Zeigler and her husband, Ken, of Carlisle, Bruce A. Sheriff and his wife, Jennifer, of Hardy, VA, George A. Sheriff Jr and his wife, Robin, of Mechanicsburg, Brian K. Sheriff and his wife, Jennifer, of Newville; her eight grandchildren: April Burdick, Nick Shatto, Melissa Shatto, Adam Zeigler, Andrew Sheriff, Amanda Sheriff, Erin Lunger and Marcus Roth; her 7 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Nancy graduated from Enola High School as part of the class of 1950 and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in New Kingstown for many years.  She enjoyed embroidery, watching the Lawrence Welk Show and listening to Polka music.  Nancy also loved to sit on her porch swing and watch the birds at her many bird feeders and baths. She worked very hard as a homemaker, raising five children and her family was the most important thing in her life. They spent many hours playing canasta and going for long car rides.  Many times these car rides took them many miles from home and to many new places.  She and her family cherished these trips, because of the time they spent together.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

All are welcome to join Nancy’s family at her viewing on Tuesday, July 23, 2019, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055; with Reverend Eric L. Funk officiating.  Burial will follow in Rolling Green Cemetery in Camp Hill.
