Gentle and Kind -

Naomi G. (Crouse) Kuntz, age 91, of Carlisle , and formerly of Mechanicsburg , died peacefully and quietly on Wednesday, July 15, 2015.  Naomi was born on Friday, December 28, 1923 in Penbrook to the late Clinton Harvey Crouse and Amanda Martha (Blessing) Crouse.  Naomi was the widow of Karl John Kuntz, whom she married on April 22, 1945, and who died on August 22, 1982.  In addition to her parents and husband, Naomi is preceded in death by her son-in-law, James “Jim” Ivan Beaver; her five brothers: Robert, Arthur, Russell, Charles, Donald; and her two sisters: Emily and Esther Crouse.

Naomi’s survivors include her two loving children: John Kuntz and his wife, Connie, of Mechanicsburg, Karlene Beaver of Dover; her three grandchildren: Michael Kuntz, Carolyn Merrill, Amy Spangler; her five great-grandchildren: Quinten Spangler, Connor Merrill, Garrett Spangler, Rachel Merrill, Simon Kuntz; and several nieces and nephews.

Naomi was a graduate of John Harris High School .  She worked at Olmstead Air Force Base, Book-of-the-Month Club, and Howard Johnson’s on the Turnpike. Naomi was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church in Mechanicsburg.  She had a great memory and whimsical personality but was a disciplinarian who taught her kids well. Known as “Fat - Ragged - and Sassy,” she even displayed that on the front license plate of her car. Naomi was a gentle and kind woman whose family will miss her deeply.

All are welcome to join Naomi’s family at her viewing on Saturday, July 18, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory , 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055, with Reverend Dr. David L. Reed officiating.  Burial will follow in Mechanicsburg Cemetery in Mechanicsburg.  Honored to be pallbearers are: John Kuntz, Michael Kuntz, Quinten Spangler, Garrett Spangler, and Ed Crouse.
