Mean What You Say & Say What You Mean -

Neil Todd Hoy, age 54, of Mechanicsburg, was embraced by Jesus and went peacefully home while his family sat lovingly by his side on Friday, June 8, 2018, following a courageous struggle with cancer.  Neil was born on Monday, September 30, 1963 in Harrisburg to Robert Eugene Hoy, Sr. and the late Geraldine Vivian (Roadcap) Hoy.

Neil’s survivors include his wife of nearly 16 years, Stacey Lynn (Allen) Hoy; his three children: Matthew, Michael, and Megan; his father, Robert Hoy, Sr.; his two brothers: Robert Hoy, Jr. and his wife, Tracy, of Mechanicsburg; Dale Hoy and his wife, Suzanne, of Millersburg; his sister, Debra Ramberger and her husband, Michael, of Millersburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Neil graduated from Millersburg High School as part of the class of 1982.  He retired in May 2017 as an IT Supervisor from PHEAA after more than 34 years of service.  Neil was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lemoyne.  He was a loving husband and father, a true family man.  His focus was doing things for his wife and children and staying deeply involved in his children’s lives and activities.  Neil loved coaching his kid’s athletic teams, which included soccer, baseball and football.  They enjoyed spending time throwing or kicking the ball around together with them.  The annual family trips to the beach and attending professional sporting events are memories that will remain forever.  Neil will be remembered for saying, “Mean what you say and say what you mean.”  He will be dearly missed.

All are welcome to join Neil’s family at his viewing on Thursday, June 14, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. and at his funeral service, which will begin at 1:00 p.m. Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 509 Hummel Avenue, Lemoyne, Pennsylvania  17043, with Reverend David J. Schreffler officiating.  Neil’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food, fellowship and greeting of guests at his church immediately following the funeral service.  Burial will follow the reception in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.  Honored to be pallbearers are: Andrew Hoy, D. J. Hoy, Frank Hoy, Jackson Hoy, Kevin Ramberger, and Kyle Ramberger.

The family will not be accepting flowers, instead suggesting that contributions in celebration of Neil’s life can be made to the Highmark Caring Place, 3 Walnut Street, Suite 200, Lemoyne, PA 17043; or the Eagle Foundation, 6746 Carlisle Pike, Mechanicsburg PA 17050.
