Nilsa Hernandez, age 62, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2016.  Nilsa was born on Monday, May 24, 1954 in San Juan, Puerto Rico to the late Carlos Hernandez and Anna Celia (Guzman) Hernandez.  In addition to her parents, Nilsa is preceded in death by her 6 brothers and sisters.

Nilsa’s survivors include her two children: Miriam Pena Hernandez and her husband, Edison Urena, of Mechanicsburg, Israel Toro of Puerto Rico; her five grandchildren; her two siblings; her companion, Pedro Matos of Mechanicsburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Nilsa enjoyed cooking for her family every chance that she had and it was one of her favorite things to do.  She also liked being with her family and had a deep love for her grandchildren

All are welcome to join Nilsa’s family at her viewing on Thursday, December 15, 2016, from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with a time of service at 7:00 p.m. at Myers - Buhrig Funeral Home and Crematory, 37 East Main Street, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.  Burial will follow on Friday, December 16, 2016 in Mechanicsburg Cemetery.
